In our Take Two series, Playlists & Polaroids checks back in with our past Spotlight features after a few months. If our original coverage on DYLAN inspired you to start following her career, you'd know it's been quite the journey for her! Last year, we had the privilege of reviewing her opening set for GAYLE at the El Rey Theatre. Fast-forward to now, she performed bangers such as fan-favorite "You're Not Harry Styles," as well as her brand new track "The Alibi," as she headlined the same venue!
DYLAN's current tour, named for her fall 2023 single "Rebel Child," kicked off its North American leg in Los Angeles on April 9. The song and tour both showcase her dynamic, unconventional artistry, as the 22-year-old consistently breaks genre boundaries and sets the bar for her generation of performers. In addition to various rock n' roll legends, the rising star draws influence from pop icons like Harry Styles and Taylor Swift, both of whom she's covered in her live sets.

In May 2023, she delivered a high-energy and showstopping set at the intimate Moroccan Lounge. Less than a year later, she found herself upgrading from the Roxy due to quick a sellout. Her setlist has also expanded along with her discography - she now showcases her unmatched vocal technique in a moving acoustic set, and celebrates her bond with fans while singing "The Alibi."

With impressive versatility and a commanding stage presence, DYLAN knows how to captivate an audience from start to finish. She begins her shows with a breathtaking rendition of the "Rebel Child" bridge, before rocking out to the track and transitioning into modern pop numbers like "Girl Of Your Dreams." Her masterful storytelling shines through in the cathartic "Blisters" and the longing "Nineteen," and she shreds on her electric guitar during the biting "You're Not Harry Styles." The confident, iconic "Nothing Lasts Forever" remains her closer.

Her first full-length album is due this year, and her next single will be a charged masterpiece entitled "Perfect Revenge," which made its live debut that night as well!
